We are always in search of the Truth. Truth is something that we all desire. Where truth is there is security. In our natural world we experience circumstances that appear as truth, but do they fall under the definition of truth. We live in a factual world. Facts are in the image of Truth, but facts can be subject to change at anytime. So when we look at the world that we live in we need to ask ourselves this question. Is there anything in our world that is subject to change? The answer is everything in our natural world is subject to change. We are constantly seeing change, some in positive ways and others in not so positive ways. There is not one thing in this world that is not subject to change. Everything in this world can change at a moments notice. The entire earth could cease to exist and that is a fact. What is the truth about Truth? There is nothing in our physical existence that is Truth. Truth is constant and without change. Truth cannot be changed. Facts are subject to change. We have grown up with factual information and considered it Truth out of ignorance. If something today is a fact and changes tomorrow where is the Truth in it? Here are a couple of definitions of truth:
a. Reality; actuality.
b. often Truth that which is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence.
I want everyone to see what I am saying. Truth will never change, because it cannot change. Truth has its origin in the realm of the spirit. The things of the spirit are eternal. Truth cannot change because anything that is in the realm of the spirit is eternal. There was a point and time on earth that everything was eternal. We see by the two definitions above that Truth is defined as reality. It is considered to be the supreme reality and to have the ultimate meaning and value of existence. When the fall of man occurred, we also fell from the supreme reality and the ultimate meaning and value of existence. This is why Jesus said that when we know the Truth, the Truth would set us free. Truth has the ability to set us free, because when we find the Truth we find the supreme reality and ultimate meaning and value of our own personal existence.
Everyone wants to know the Truth, but they are not willing to seek it out. People desire to be flexible and ever changing. Adam and Eve desired change and fell from Truth to fact. When we seek out Truth it may seem as though we are changing, which we are, but we are changing so we can be more consistent, which truth is. The only form of truth that we have in our natural world can be found in the Bible. The Bible is Truth. It is a guide and map to help direct us to the Truth. Once you know the Truth of anything, then you can enter into the realm of rest. Truth brings with it peace. Like a large boulder, Truth has a foundation that cannot be moved. We cannot build our lives on the facts because tomorrow they can change. Build your life on Truth (God’s Word), and when the facts change you will remain the same, strengthened in the Truth. We will never know the truth if we continue to look for it out in the world and that is a FACT. If you desire to know the truth, then you need to know Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.” In the book of Hebrews, the 13th chapter, and 8th verse, we see more evidence that Jesus is the TRUTH. The verse states that Jesus is the same (same means never changing, constant, true) yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus is our constant peace in times of trouble. Ask Jesus to be your TRUTH today and enter into God’s rest. God bless you all.
