Emptiness and Fulfillment

I want to address the feelings that we all have or have had at times, and that is feelings of an emptiness or void in our lives. When we were born, as babies we are alive to God. Even though a baby is born into a sinful nature or a sin filled world, his or her little spirit is alive to God. You can see it as they grow and they are so joyful and attentive. Children have an incredible level of faith if it has not been influenced by negative or fearful nurturing. Jesus had tremendous regard for children:
(Matthew 18:1-6) At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receives me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
(Matthew 18:14) Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
Unfortunately not all children have the opportunity to experience life as God desires for them. In this world we have God representatives called parents. Parents are the closest thing we know to God. We hold them in high regard and we desire their love and approval. In an unhealthy household where the parents are of an abusive nature, a child’s perception of God can be skewed. Parent’s are to impart into their children values that enable them to make sound decisions and find fulfillment out of life. Children in an abusive situation are robbed of the healthy environment that was meant to instill those important values and they lack the information needed to live happy, fulfilling lives.
In an abusive household the children are held accountable for everything that is wrong in their parents lives. The child bares the bruden of other peoples actions. There is no value system to dictate right from wrong. Their concept of God is based upon the reality they face on a daily basis. Happiness and fulfillment are of another universe. Emptiness and hopelessness are commodities with a seemingly endless surplus. Statistics show that 80% of children experience one or more forms of abuse. I am here to tell you God has not forgotten you.
Emptiness comes in many packages in today’s world. We turn to worldly ways to fill that gap which was left by whatever circumstance caused it. Thrill seekers, people who drink, take drugs, get into fights, people who turn to crime and eventually end up in prison are all looking for fulfillment. Sex and pornography are other tools Satan will turn people toward in hopes to better destroy there lives and drive them even further away from God. The devil will, once they are so deep into these things, then make it seem hopeless. He will convince them that they are unforgivable and unworthy of God’s love. This is the time to run to God not away. He loves us all equally regardless of what we have done. God wants us to turn to Him. There is nothing that He can’t fix. There isn’t anything God can do.
(Colossians 2:9-10) For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.
In this scripture it states that in Jesus dwells all the fullness. You can’t get any fuller than full. This fullness means that through Jesus, God has provided everything that a person needs to live a life of happiness or joyfulness. Complete means that there is nothing missing or nothing broken. When you buy something from a store, something that has to be put together, and after putting it together you find pieces missing, you would say that it was not complete. When you are complete there is nothing missing in your life. Jesus made provisions for you and I. The word salvation has deep meaning to it if you look at the original words in the Hebrew (Old Testament) and the Greek (New Testament). When the English translated it they did not do the best to represent what the fullness of the word really meant to the Jews and Greeks. All I ever understood growing up about salvation was that if I had it I was going to heaven. It means much more than that. It has provisions in it for us now. Lets look at both of the words from the Hebrew and Greek in which the English word salvation was translated:
HEBREW: H3444 (Reference number used to find this word in the Strongs Concordance) yesh-oo'-aw Feminine passive participle of H3467; something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: - deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.
GREEK: G4991 (Reference number used to find this word in the Strongs Concordance) so-tay-ree'-ah Feminine of a derivative of G4990 as (properly abstract) noun; rescue or safety (physically or morally): - deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.
In both incidences the meanings reflect far more than we or at least I ever knew about salvation. Words like; deliverance, aid, victory, prosperity, health, rescue, safety, etc. These are all things we need here and now, not something we need when we get to heaven. There is no lack in heaven of any sort. If your broke, your lacking money. If your sick, you are lacking health. If your defeated, you are lacking victory. If your under some circumstance that seems hopeless by any human standards, you are lacking deliverance. If your going to hell, you are in lack of the saving grace of God.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). God so loved us that He raised up men to record His word accurately so that we would know of His love and will for people. Getting into His word is the second best way to build a relationship with Him, the first best is, of course, receiving Jesus into your heart. There is no way around it. If you are seeking the answers to all of life’s questions it can only be attained through knowing Jesus and God’s will for you. His love is endless and the Bible also tells us it never fails. Here is a prayer of salvation. If you have no peace in your life this is the first step you need to take. Say this pray out loud, because when we say something out loud it takes effort and that means our will is involved. This needs to be a heart condition. You have to desire to do it. After that you need strong spiritual support. Find a Bible based church, (One that believes in the full teaching of the Bible/faith based). Repeat this prayer:
.
Father, I ask You to forgive me of my sin. I thank You for Your Son, Jesus. He died on the cross for my sin, and You Father raised Him up to justify me. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Father for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen
