Fear enveloped my life. All I knew was fear after witnessing the death of my grandfather. The fear of dying seemed to be the focal point of my very existence. Fear hinders many people in perusing certain objectives or performing certain tasks. Fear is a part of everyday life. We have been raised with it. Many people will tell you to have some fear is a good thing. Some parents teach children with fear.
When we are fearful of something, it is as if that which we are afraid of is reality. The fact is that most of the time it is the imagination trained or conditioned by bad experience(s). Let say a toddler accidentally touches something hot and it burns him/her. The fact is that the hot object has not impacted this child’s way of thinking, but the fact that he got burned from it. The next time he sees the object even though it may not be hot, the experience of being burned has developed within him a fear of the object. You see this in cases of abuse. A man may abuse his wife because of the abuse he received from his own mother in early childhood. Even though his wife is nowhere near the type of person that his mother was, the fact that she is a woman brings back the reality of the abuse he suffered. Just like the hot object, even though it may no longer be hot, seeing it brings back to reality the experience.
Fear is not a good thing. It leaves many bound to it. Even though that which we fear is not real at the time the thought of it brings back to reality the experience. Fear may also be caused from indirect experiences. When we have knowledge of something bad happening to someone else, being in the same situation will bring to reality the experience they had. The fear of death is the father of all fears. You may ask why I say that? Think about it, fear of no money means you can’t buy food to eat, can’t pay the heating bill, or can’t make the mortgage payment. If you don’t eat, or if you freeze in the cold of winter, or if you have no place to live, they are all rooted in the fear of death.
All of the phobia’s out there that the medical community has named are all rooted in the fear of death. These fears though there may be no real manifestation of them can seem real, because the more we meditate on something the more real it may seem. When we meditate on something in particular we develop an image in our mind. We are a people lead by our senses, taste, touch, smell, hear, and sight. If we visualize something in our mind long enough, our brain will imagine it as reality. If this thing we are meditating on is fear based in nature, it can hinder us and even paralyze us from performing normal functions.
I had so much fear in my life that it was not funny. My mind was continuously searching for something to be fearful of. The Bible has an anointing on it or should I say an empowerment to deliver us from fear. The whole purpose for Jesus' death on the cross was to destroy the fear of death.
(Hebrews 2:9) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
(Hebrews 2:14-15) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
The scriptures above clearly show the master plan that God had to destroy the fear of death in our lives. It states that because of this fear we were all our lifetime subject to bondage. Fear is bondage. It will keep you captive if you don't do something about. The bottom line is we all need Jesus. It was never in Gods' plan for us to be separated from Him. The only way to ever achieve wholeness and true peace is to ask Jesus into your life. Here is a prayer that you can repeat if your ready to make that decision now. You must say it out loud because when we activate our mouth it shows God that our heart is involved and it has to be a heart condition. The Bible states that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. It is also interesting to me that the nerves that are attached to our vocal cords actually loop down by our human heart. Please repeat this prayer aloud: \
Father, I ask You to forgive me of my sin. I thank You for Your Son, Jesus. He died on the cross for my sin, and You Father raised Him up to justify me. Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Father for saving me, in Jesus name, Amen. Jesus said He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life. So when we need to find the way or we need to know the truth and we desire a better life, Jesus is the answer to all.
